Alerts and notifications

Alerts and notifications

Stay in the loop without checking the app every five minutes. Set your alerts and manage how you get notified so you never miss any tea.

SETTING NAME ALERTS

If you're waiting for information on a specific person, you don’t need to search manually every day. You can set an alert and let the app do the work for you.

How to set an alert (expand)
  • To get started, tap the three-line icon at the bottom of the navigation bar and select "My Alerts."

  • Click the button with the bell icon that says "Tell me if [NAME] is posted" to create a new monitor.

  • You can only set alerts for first names at this time.

  • If you run into an error while setting an alert, make sure you have removed the last name from the search field.

  • Once the alert is active, you will receive a notification the moment a new post is made with that name in your area.

MONITORING DIFFERENT CITIES

By default, alerts are tied to your current location settings. If you need to keep tabs on a man in a different city more than 100 miles away, you can use a quick workaround.

Setting alerts in other locations (expand)
  • Tap the three-line icon to access your account settings and temporarily edit your location to the new city.

  • Save the new location and then search for the name you want to monitor in that specific area.

  • Set the alert while your account is still set to that new city.

  • You can then change your account location back to your home city, and the alert will stay active for the other location.

  • This allows you to monitor multiple cities at once even if they are across the country.

MANAGING YOUR NOTIFICATION SETTINGS

We want you informed, not annoyed. You have full control over what pings your phone and when you want to go silent.

Turning off or configuring notifications (expand)
  • To customize your alerts, tap the three-line icon at the bottom of the navigation bar and click "Notifications."

  • Within the app menu, you can toggle specific notification types on or off to suit your preferences.

  • If you want to go completely dark, you can go into your phone's main settings, search for "Tea," and disable all notifications for the app.

  • Disabling notifications in your phone settings will prevent all alerts, including name matches and comments on your posts.
