Subscription refunds
This is for informational purposes only. All financial transactions and refund requests are managed directly by the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.
REFUND CLARITY
We believe in transparency and keeping things simple. We want you focused on the community and spilling the tea, not stressing over your bank statement. Because our subscriptions are integrated with your phone’s app store, Tea doesn't actually hold your credit card info or have a "refund" button on our end.
If you want to stop your subscription, you need to cancel at least 24 hours (one day) before your next billing date. If you miss that window, the app store will process the charge automatically.
REQUESTING A REFUND FROM APPLE
If you are using an iPhone, Apple holds the keys to your subscription and your money. You will need to contact them directly to request a refund.
REQUESTING A REFUND FROM GOOGLE PLAY
For Android users, Google handles the billing and the refunds. You can manage this through your browser or your Play Store account.
THE FINE PRINT
You must cancel through your device settings at least one day before the next charge is due to avoid a new monthly bill.
Deleting the Tea app from your phone OR deleting your account with Tea does not cancel your subscription or stop the charges. You must follow the steps in this article to fully cancel your subscription.
We have zero tolerance for hidden fees, but refund eligibility is ultimately decided by Apple or Google’s specific terms of service.
Each platform has its own rules and timelines for when a refund is actually allowed.
