Account and Subscription FAQs

Common questions around accounts and subscriptions

I'M LOGGED IN BUT MY POSTS ARE GONE - WHAT HAPPENED?

If you open the app and see a blank profile, don't panic. You haven't lost your history; you’ve likely just accidentally created a duplicate account.

 Recovering your original account (expand)
  • This usually happens if you used a different login method (like Apple ID vs. Email) than you used the first time.

  • To fix this, log out of the app completely via the three-line icon in your settings.

  • Try logging back in using the alternative login button on the home screen.

  • Once you are in, check the "My Posts" section in your account settings to see if your history has returned.

  • If you are still stuck in a new account after trying both options, contact support with your username and city details.

WHY CAN'T I FIND MY CITY IN THE SETTINGS?

We support all U.S. cities, but the search can be picky if you don't give it the full details. Getting your location right is the only way to make sure you're seeing the right information.

Troubleshooting location settings (expand)
  • You must type out the full "City, State" rather than just the city name to get the correct result.

  • Because results are alphabetical, common city names from other states may appear before the one you are looking for.

  • Tea currently only supports city addresses and does not recognize township names.

  • If you live in a township, you should select the closest major city to ensure the 100-mile feed works correctly.

  • If you are using an abbreviation like "St," make sure to include the period so the system recognizes it as "St."

HOW DO I GET A REFUND FOR MY SUBSCRIPTION?

Tea does not handle your credit card information directly. All financial transactions are managed by the gatekeepers of your phone's app store.

Refund and cancellation facts (expand)
  • You must manage your subscription and any refund requests directly through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

  • Simply uninstalling the app will not cancel your subscription or stop the monthly charges.

  • We recommend cancelling at least 24 hours before your renewal date to ensure the app store doesn't process the next payment.

  • Our Pro plan carries a cost because we have to pay for the high-quality data used in background checks and investigative searches.
